Eastern Kentucky

The Eastern Kentucky Chapter is a regional council supported and sponsored by the Kentucky Reading Association (KRA). We are made up of local KRA members in the counties of Clark, Estill, Garrard, Jackson, Lincoln, Madison, Rockcastle, and Powell and our developing counties of Wolfe, Lee, Owsley, Breathitt, Perry, Knott, Magoffin, Martin, Pike, Floyd, Knott, Letcher, and Perry.

What do you do?
Eastern Kentucky Chapter, a division of the Kentucky Reading Association, is a professional organization of educators and individuals actively engaged in the development of literacy throughout our servicing region and across the Commonwealth. We are committed to encouraging lifelong reading for pleasure and learning, providing information related to literacy, increasing opportunities for professional growth, and promoting research based instructional practices.

KRA is an affiliate of the International Literacy Association (ILA). Eastern Kentucky chapter, along with the KRA, provides professional development and leadership opportunities for members across the state.
